hi all , I’m really worried about my mum,she has internal Hemorrhoids and would have constipation(which a doctor told her could be due to the medication she’s on for her headaches)The doctor got her to take a FIT test and it came back 400 (even though her hemorrhoids were actively bleeding) she is now waiting to get a colonoscopy . She hasn’t lost any weight or gained any weight and feels healthy. I’m so worried incase she has cancer. There is no family history either and she’s 55 years old. Has anyone had a similar experience ?

Hi T-23756 I too have internal haemorrhoids. Also suffer constipation. A colonoscopy is the best thing for her to just make sure nothing is seriously wrong. I too had a high FIT test. It turned out that I had polyps and diverticulosis. Also they took bits of my intestines for tests. All benign. I still suffer sometimes stomach problems but it is just something you deal with. So don’t worry yet. Best thing is the colonoscopy which will determine the problem. Also I might add take all the prep no matter how horrible. They need a clear intestine to see any problems, you don’t want to come back. Sure your mum will be OK. Xxxx

Hi T-23756,

Thanks for posting on Colon Cancer Connected. I see Alloagirl has responded to your post and the information is "spot on".👍 I hate to hear your mom is having to deal with this situation, but what you are after and need to focus on is getting answers. The colonoscopy is absolutely the best way to get this done. There are so many reasons that could be causing this and you need to narrow down the options.

I am proud you are taking action to get things in order. You are not ignoring symptoms which is great. You have stated some positive notes about her weight. You are doing great. I am betting on what Alloagirl said ... "Sure your mum will be OK."🧡🤟 And please do the colonoscopy prep exactly as stated in the instructions. It can be rough, but well worth it to find answers.

Please keep us posted as to what you find out. The information can prove to be helpful to others.
