So so scared and nervous. 18 Year old

So back in June i had some toilet troubles. Blood on my poop and constant constipation. Then throughout summer and up until a couple weeks ago i was a little constipated but not bad. Now i cannot even go to the washroom. Some blood on the side. I got it checked out earlier and got blood tests and an ultrasound and they said everything was perfect. Now i got checked and i got an abdominal x ray. im so scared it is cancer. Like so so scared. I’m so young and I don’t want this to be the end of me. I’m breaking down. Everything i’ve seen said it’s signs of cancer and what not. Any advice for me?

Hi Steppaa,

Thank you for posting in Colon Cancer Connected. I went back and looked at your other posts. I'm glad to see you are engaging with your healthcare team on trying to find the solution.

It looks like this is the same issue you were dealing with 9 months ago. You stated

"the blood is definitely a hemorrhoid", but seem to still have some of that going on. It looks like the path is addressing the constipation issue?

Did you get an x-ray or a CT Scan? An x-ray can reveal a lot of structural issues and changes and this may be an effective first step. The CT-Scan is much more detailed 360 degree view. You've been having these issues almost a year and you are on the path to get more knowledge about it. If the x-ray doesn't present convincing information, I would definitely look into getting a colonoscopy.

Stay on this path with your doctor until you get the answers you need. If you don't think your doctor is being effective diagnosing your issues, please go get a 2nd opinion. Your doctor should have no issues with you doing so.

You are 18. Yes, that is young, but you are experiencing these issues and you need answers. It's important to gain information and address it early. You are addressing this early. That is awesome. Remember, tests can discover issues to address as well as eliminate issues that are causing you stress. But you gotta wait for the results. If you have to "be" something, BE POSITIVE.👍

You are doing a great job with the actions you are taking.

Catching things early is huge. I know you are scared and nervous, but I'd put your energy into finding the cause of your issue.

We wish you the best and please keep us posted. We'll be thinking of you and hoping for good news.

Thanks. I got an x-ray done. Doc should phone back tomorrow on the results of it. I really want a colonoscopy to be sure about things. Thanks for your reply. I’ll be more positive!

Doing great Steppaa. Remember, the x-ray may reveal information about the causes of your symptoms. Let's hope it does. It may require further investigation measures need to be taken. Maybe a colonoscopy? No matter what is revealed, you'll want to focus on what are the next steps to deal with alleviating your issues. What's the plan to deal with it and hopefully put it behind you.

Keep being awesome😀👍
