Hi

Totally new. Ive been passing alot of blood every poo for about 4 weeks. Absolutely terrified I have cancer. Because I am so stressed its making bowel movements even more erratic. No pain or discomfort a little bloated and gassy. Awaiting poo test results

Would love some advice

I would get a colonoscopy to put your mind at ease. Ive had 2 this year as i started to see blood when i wiped. The first one they removed 5 polyps and 5mm of a 25mm polyp and 9 biopsies, had to be aborted as it was too painful, it came back diverticulitis, proctitis, IBD and mucosa. I went back again had the 2nd done under propofol put to sleep they removed the rest of it and another small one, ot was put under a microscope and was all clear. They have booked me in for a years time for a ct colonogram just to check all is ok, if so will be a 3 year check after that. But no cancer! Proctitus, piles, fissures and diverticulitis all cause blood so try not to worry. I too was very gassy burping and passing wind

I know about being a nervous wreck. I have similar for about a 2months. Mine is mostly mucus and constipation. One time I had a dark clot come out and a piece of Poo hard with dark blood. Now I have microscopic blood and I have lost weight. Weigh 96 pounds.

Sorry you are going through this. I would recommend speaking with your doctor, explain your symptoms, and asking for a colonoscopy &/or a digital rectal exam. Please keep us posted. Best wishes from all of us at the Global CCA.

Blood tests have came back ok. No poo test results yet but GP has sent me for emergency referral for Colonoscopy. Not sure of timescales but hopefully find out exactly whats going on as struggling to function at the min.

Hi the best is to get colonoscopy done. Blood test can’t detect any cancer. I been going back and fort to my doctor since the beginning of pandemic, but my doctor can’t detect. Sum my blood test is came back normal. But when i start having blood in my stools my doctor ask for sample and they send it to be check and came back positive trace of blood, so they send me for colonoscopy only waited 5 days. After my colonoscopy they found 35mm pendeculated polyp. Actually turn in too tumour. They send me for ct scan. Then sigmoidoscopy to remove the tumour, my tumour been send for Biopsy. They done MDT last week and i got a phne call my surgeon said he will see me in clinic soon. And told me that the tumour in my sigmoid turn to colon cancer. I worried but he assure me that is early and better to detect it now so i can get treatment. Cancer is what im only 34 mother of 3 young kids. But glad find out now than is to late. All the best on you. I would push get check bcz not all blood in stool is cancer but better get check than is 2late.🙏🏽 Sorry about my english…

Statistics say it’s probably not cancer however you must get a colonoscopy. I had bleeding and mine was a polyp that caused the bleeding. I’m 46 and if I would have waited till 50 it very well could have been cancer. Get the colonoscopy you’ll be fine. I worried non stop but after the colonoscopy the worry is completely gone. God Bless!

Update guys… after a really challenging few weeks (i know u have all been there in same place) i had colonoscopy today. The prep was really tuff… the drink isnt great and the sitting on the loo for hours to follow.

Colonoscopy went ok. Again not pleasant but the staff were phenomenal kept me calm and talked me through. Great result no signs of cancer ive been diagnosed with diverticulitis (if i have spelt that right) had a flare up caused so really bad stomach pains and changes in bowel movements as well as flaring up some internal piles that was causing the bleeding. Id like that thank all of u for the support encourage all to get checked who are worried and wish all of u the strength and courage for your own battles…. Thank u
