I’ve been having blood in my stool for a while now. Maybe a year. It’ll happen every time for about two weeks then go away for a month or so then come back. Bleeding is usually pretty subtle but still stings when I’m passing. Occasionally bleeding has been moderate to where I can see droplets in toilet. Any ideas? Doctor said anal fissure but it’s not going away. This was about 4 months ago when I went do doc.

Blood in stool
Hello, did your doctor did an exam to confirm the fissure?I was told i have haemorrhoids for so long and ended up with cancer, not to scare you but if you dont feel the diagnosis is accurate please get a colonoscopy..
Before accepting the diagnosis of fissures please insist on more tests. I don't see how someone can throw fissures diagnosis without checking you more in depth. Colonoscopy and endoscopy should be done. However, please don't panic. I bleed for years and after multiple tests and exams, there's still no explanation and it remains mystery. Besides polyps found and removed (multiple!) no reason whatsoever. It's very upsetting to see blood on regular basis but in my case really no explanation was given. This is good news (as opposed to other member who got diagnosed with cancer) but mystery remains. I also in have long periods of being bloated or constipated, my digestive system seems to do lots of tricks to me but as for blood specifically, no reason.... Please push for colonoscopy to start. Good luck!
