Hi all,

I am new here. I am young and have had some IBS symptoms here and there, nothing that really disturbs my daily life aside from a bout of extreme constipation 2 years ago. I just went to the bathroom and I have NEVER seen anything like this. It doesn’t resemble anything I can find online. Any help or opinions? I obviously need to go to doc but idk what this is.

Looks like an injury to colon or a parasitic infection. What did you eat?

Thank you for posting and I'm sorry for the anxiety you must be experiencing.

It is hard to tell from looking at an image and we definitely recommend you visiting a doctor. It could be a number of different conditions. Did you eat anything unusual? Sometimes food can play tricks on us as far as looking like something specific in the toilet.

I would recommend staying calm, but seeing a doctor as soon as possible.

Depending on where you live, as well as insurance, you may need to start with a primary care (or general practictioner) to examine you and make a referral to a specialist.

If your stool continues as it is, try to get in with the doctor immediately.

Hello... did you go to the docs? Did you find out what this is?

I’ve been having symptoms (blood/mucous) for a year now and over the last few month I’ve been seeing these stringy bits too.

I pass a lot of pinkish mucous (sometimes just on its own)

I’ve had a colonoscopy (feb) and also an mri (oct) and nothing shows in either.
