31 yr old female. To start off I do have hemorrhoids well last night when I went to use the restroom I noticed my stool and a bright red color to it I almost thought I started menstrual cycle. This is the first time it’s ever happened. Since I haven’t been pooping red anymore. I don’t have pains in my stomach I do lack my water intake. Can someone point me to what I should do?

Hi Angela. I am Angie too from UK ! I had similar to you three weeks ago blood like yours for two days. Nothing since but I am a bit constipated. I am 58 so went to my doctor who did blood tests and a stool sample. I am now due to get a colonoscopy because of my age although she didn’t seem too concerned. She said she could feel a couple of piles. To avoid worrying Unnecessarily I would go to your doctor as the most likely cause will be your piles.

Hi Angela-31, thank you for posting and I'm sorry you are going through this - it can definitely be scary to see blood in the toilet as you have.
There are a number of reasons why you may have blood in your stool, or even bleeding without a bowel movement, but you'll only be able to know the cause if you are examined by a health care professional.
Staying hydrated is really important, dehydration can cause constipation/hard stools which can cause additional issues.
Please contact your primary care doctor and see if they can see you (not sure if you can directly make an appointment with a GI doctor) but either way you need to be seen.
Please keep us posted
