Painful skin

Does anybody else suffer with a burning sensation like you have real bad sunburn? Keep gettin it on upper back and arms - feel like ripping my clothes off. Even hurts when any contact is made. My partner feels guilty for inflicting pain if he hugs me on a bad day.

Hi Cath, Yes I get similar painful skin, have been for about 5 years now, it can be almost anywhere on my body but is mostly on legs or arms and will last for a day or two. It happens once or twice a month.

Yes Cath, I do too. It always affects my feet and legs, and can be excruciating. When it's really bad I get a bag of frozen peas (kept specially for this!) and gently stroke my feet/legs with it. This can be really soothing and takes my mind off the burning, and usually helps it settle down.

I'm not sure whether this would be helpful to you if you can't bear anyone to touch your affected skin. I do hope you find some way of soothing the burning as I know it is just horrible.

I can't say my skin in painful but I have found recently that my lower arms, legs and back are itching quite a lot.

Hi Cath,

I get some burning in my shoulders but I think it is a different thing to yours.. I feel the burning in my muscles not my skin and for me i think it is "overuse" burn even though I haven't really done anything!

How is it feeling now?
