Not Zanubrutinib but when I started Ibrutinib I couldn’t swallow because the lymph nodes in my neck were swollen. Consultant checked with manufacturer who didn’t recommend crushing, but luckily a very experienced Haematology pharmacist said nonsense and told me to crush and mix with yogurt. After two weeks I was able to swallow the whole pill.

Good luck

All the guidance I’ve read says the capsules should not be opened, broken or chewed Sepsur but I do believe there is a liquid substitute which a good pharmacist should be able to advise on. I think the manufacturers would need to advise on mixing the capsule contents with yoghurt as it could impact efficacy.

They’re such huge ‘bullets’, I struggle with them too! 🥴

Hi, I would love to know the actual size of your ‘bullets’. Will measure mine too. I am currently taking 2x2 pills a day and two are taken with breakfast which is always with yoghurt. Mmmm. Didn’t think of a problem there. Thanks x

I take 4 at one sitting (as instructed). The Zanubrutinib are very much bigger than any other tablets I take and I think size or difficulty is a relative concept based on how well we can swallow. I manage but have occasional gagging experiences with them. However I’d never ‘decant’ the contents into anything because it’s specifically not advised to do so.

I thought it was Ibrutinib that had recently become available as liquid. Can't see it in UK formulary, maybe US only at present.

Yes, probably the case Skyshark. Sepsur had previously asked about a liquid form of Ibrutinib which I’d told him I understood was available. The ‘liquid substitute’ I was talking about was Ibrutinib. A specialist pharmacist would need to give advice as to whether any other BTK’s are available in liquid form in the U.K.

Didn’t wish to confuse anyone - it’s very specific one off circumstance -

Hi Sepsur, I’d assumed, (maybe wrongly), that this question related to the friend you previously posted on who has sadly lost the ability to swallow solids due to another serious condition. Sorry if they still haven’t been able to resolve this difficulty.

I thought the ingestion time of Ibrutinib is critical and thats why it states not to crush or break the tablet.
