My husband has cll (not on treatment) his last appointment the consultant said his neutrophil count had gone up ( it is 19) he mentioned cml and that he could have that as well as cll but was very blasé and said it could just be a fluctuation and he'd check the bloods. He was also running extremely late and it all felt very rushed. That was in September and other than a letter 2 months later stating overall results and the above we've heard nothing.Would neutrophil count fluctuate that much?
He said it had 'gone up a bit' but then went down again previously. I have not looked into cml yet (don't want to be freaked out more!) But consultant said if it was also cml it would "just be another pill" when he starts treatment.

CML (Chronic Myeloid Leukemia) was the first blood cancer successfully treated by a targeted inhibitor therapy, imatinib/Gleevec. It was approved by the FDA in 2001 and transformed CML to a manageable condition, just like ibrutinib did for CLL over a decade later.
Having both conditions would be very rare. See what happens next blood test.
Not sure of your location but in the U. S. when I get the vague wording, I ask, " Mild, Moderate, or Severe"? As those terms seem, although not any more exact or scientific, to be a convention used. My rule of thumb, no professional here, is mild is a blip see if it changes, moderate begin thinking about interventions (perhaps), and severe a suggestion is imminent.
Not sure if it helps, but lets leave the pinches, dashes, jots, splashes and all other ill-defined terms out. 🙂
First, welcome and congratulations on your first post after nearly 2 years lurking.
Second, it is usual to lock posts with personal info like test results to "community only" so they are not visible to internet search engines. Many people won't reply to unlocked posts. Below your post above there is a line of buttons, "Reply", "Like", "Report" and "More V". Click on "more V", then select "Edit". Below the edit panel there is a button Share : "Anyone V", select that and select ""community only" and then "Post" to save the change.
In October my Neuts had nearly doubled 9.6 up from 5.1 in July. My Lymphs had dropped from 1.4 to 0.5. The Neut Lymph Ratio (NLR) is over 17, up from 3.6. At present we are accounting for this being due to me having a COVID and Flu vaccine the day before the blood test but won't know until the next test in January.
They do fluctuate but seeing a trend over several months is the best indicator. Make a note of it now and see what the next blood test shows. In the meantime don't over-think things.
