can i take ibruprofin when taking venetoclax?

I take venetoclax for CLL. is it ok to take ibruprofin to reduce hip paqin?

It's a question you should ask your specialist. I expect their answer will depend on how well your blood counts are holding up. That's because all CLL treatments tend to suppresses them, with neutropenia particularly common with venetoclax and ibuprofen possibly suppressing counts further. My specialist only recommended Tylenol/Panadol/APAP (acetamenophen/paracetamol), for this reason.

I was advised not to take Ibuprofen when I was on treatment.

I was advised Tylenol only but I have gastro issues so that might have been the reason in my case. Best to you.
