I was very surprised to see a commercial for Calquence on NBC during the Olympic Marathon yesterday. I had no idea that there were commercials for CLL.

Direct to patient adverts are permitted in the US and New Zealand, elsewhere such adverts are prohibited since the medicines are POM or prescription only medicines and pharma companies can only advertise them to medical practitioners. Only over-the-counter named medicines can be advertised direct to the public.

Hmmm when I watch "On Demand" shows they are full of drug ads. I've seen CLL meds advertised for at least several years, even watching a network show in real time.
