Sounds encouraging - especially on the T-cell front. Thank you for posting.

Good news. I’ve been on Ibrutinib several years and this sounds encouraging. Sally🙏

Thanks for posting. This updates previous research showing that Ibrutinib monotherapy can reverse T cell exhaustion and restore function. Previously "long term treatment" meant anything over 6 months; this later research is talking about 5 years, but even then T cell function is only partially restored.

I assume this is an off-target effect of Ibrutinib, and whether the better targeted, second generation BTK inhibitors Acalabrutinib and Zanubrutinib are equally capable of restoring T cell function is questionable. I haven't seen a paper to settle the issue, other than one with a heavy Abbvie authorship, which naturally claimed that Ibrutinib did and Acalabrutinib didn't.
