Hi Pat,

This is quite an old video now (12/24/2015). CAR-T is still quite a rare treatment for CLL.

There has been quite a lot of work going on over recent years to reduce side effects and to extend the duration of CARs before the become exhausted.

I hope the trials of CAR-T result in the development of something that is more durable and a lower cost so it becomes a practical option for many more people.

Best to all, robin

I missed the date, Robin. My apologies. Currently, we have highly effective treatments, but we must face the possibility of relapse. In the future, CAR T (including armored cars, trucks, super CAR T, CAR T NK, nanoparticles delivery, and CRISPR CAS 9) will replace targeted therapies. One infusion and the treatment is complete. It's not a matter of if but when. Thank you for listening,

Best,

Pat

There really is no need to apologise, we all do this from time to time.

BTW, try searching CAR-T on this group and see what you find :-).

Not really brave Pat, needed to do something and was hoping it might be a game changer for me. FCR gave me 5 years, I+V gave me five years, success for me is this giving more than five years, but who knows. Every day is a gift.

All the best, robin

I hope and pray that CLL/SLL will be functionally cured within five years or possibly less, as this would be the first step towards a complete cure.

Best,

Pat from New York City

If we only could have the treatment that will be available 100 years from now ..

CAR T cell therapy, Breyanzi, was FDA approved for relapsed and refractory CLL/SLL on March 14, 2024. Super CAR T and CAR E are experimental. We'll get there, LeoPa.
