Groundhog Day and February blahs

Just a reminder for those living in the Northern Hemisphere of this planet that tomorrow is Groundhog Day and the official start to the February blahs. Some rodent will predict whether (weather?) there will be 6 more weeks of winter OR that we will have an early spring which will arrive in a month & a half.

I plan on cooking a chuck steak to celebrate.

I'm going to reach out to some of my friends I haven't seen in a while and see how they're doing and if they have the February blahs. A good conversation can help cure that.

The ability to rejoice in others happiness and commiserate with those who are struggling is good for my soul.

I certainly feel thankful to be a part of this group that is so supportive and caring and checks in on each other. Thank you to all for posting your stories and making this such a great community.

RSilver, such an uplifting and fun post! This is a great community! Just imagine if we all lived nearby each other-WOW! Neighborhood chats that would last late into the night, barbecues, holiday celebrations! Yep, this community is great! 🙂 Sandra

Thanks Sandra

I hope there's a Groundhog that predicts the upcoming weather in your area.

I always thought that they were one of God's interesting creatures.

Best wishes for your continued good health.

Back in 2018, my wife and I finally went to Punxsutawney PA to participate in the Groundhog Gala. (We have a very good friend who lives there.) It's quite the celebration. 40k people fit into a dell waiting for the furry prognosticator to be pulled from his fake den.

With all the lights surrounding the stage, he couldn't help but see his shadow.

In spite of that sad fact, Punxsutawney Phil says Spring is just around the corner in 2024!

My local prognosticator Wiarton Willie predicted an early spring as did Shubenacadie Sam and Fred la marmotte predict. The lone dissenting voice among weather prognosticating animals was Lucy the Lobster in Barrington, Nova Scotia.

Did Lucy's handlers promptly boil and eat her?

I would vote for that

If I were Punxsutawney Phil I would have been afraid of 40k people and all the bright lights and never come out! We are having very above normal temps so far this year. I agree with Katie, I think climate change has moved Phil's "cheese." 😆

This is a wonderful community! We have a groundhog that comes into our backyard regularly. If he came today, he would not have seen his shadow!
