Good News and not so good news

Good morning everyone!

Good news: My husband, who has Richter's and is in a trial at MD Anderson in Houston had his 3 month testing this past week. His PET scan shows no disease and he is MRD in the blood and bone marrow. We feel so blessed and fortunate to have the care we are receiving.

Not so good news - when we got home from MDA on Wednesday, he felt poorly. (He felt fine the entire time we were there). Was chilling and coughing and his fever spiked to 101.4 F. Lo and behold - COVID positive. I contacted his team at MDA the next day and he has been on Paxlovid and is over the worst of it. (I am also positive - yippee!!) He had to stop his Venetoclax, Pirtobrutnib and Flecanide for the duration of Pax therapy. He continues to have a cough but no fever.

Thank you for this wonderful community which continues to supply great information and support to us all.

Praying God's blessings for all of us in 2024.

Laurie

I’m sorry to hear you both picked up COVID. Hopefully you both will be on the mend soon.

Quick question. What symptoms did your husband have that led to his diagnosis of Richter’s?

Glad to hear the good news. COVID on top of that is just unreal. I had a cough for 6-8 weeks after COVID.

I have recovered but he’s still coughing a lot and feeling like a truck ran over him.
