CLL and Allergies to Paint Fumes?

Hello Everyone. It's been a long time since I posted! I just had my kitchen cabinets refaced and repainted and now have red itchy eyes & skin, feet and hands turning cold and numb and terrible sinus issues. Has anyone else experienced an apparent allergy to paint since you've been diagnosed? If so, any tips & pointers?

I would assume paint fumes to be simply toxic, it is not necessarily an allergy.

Unfortunately, LeoPa, it was an allergic reaction that turned into a full-sa=cale sinus infection. :(

Hi Naisy,

A short answer would be that CLL has damaged our immune system and many of us get autoimmune problems and exaggerated reactions to different stimuluses.

Thanks Len. I’ll look into that info. I avoid the isle in the grocery store that has all the cleaning products because it makes me feel ill. I wondered that question about becoming hypersensitive. I worked in a clinic and had a client that would come in with cologne from the dollar store. I had to end the session because I had a reaction and told him that he could not come back to see me wearing that cologne. I wasn't sure why I was becoming sensitive to things. Again that was helpful!!!🦋

So sorry to hear about your issues Katie. I can relate! Praying things will get better for all of us suffering from hypesensitivity issues. I have three Hepa air machines in the main rooms that I use in my house. Seems to help.

If I need anything in the cleaning supplies isle I take a deep breath and run down the aisle to get what I need. It’s like jumping in a pool and going underwater!!! There is a smaller store near where I live that sells dye free natural cleaning products. I shop there for what I need. I try to use the most organic products I can find. My best friend makes her own products. I’m still working so I buy the best that I can. 😘

Thanks lankisterguy, the articles have been very helpful. Unfortunately my comings and going are being dicteated by what I could possibly be allergic to in the various environments. Talk about a lifestyle change. On a positive note, at least I can still go out, just have to be more in-tune with my environment. (My silver lining).
