I was diagnosed with stage C CLl in August with 2 treatment options. V+O for one year or Acalabrutinib for ever.
Any views on the above or is it just the convenience of the treatment.

Hi Farleytiff!
Both treatments are very good first treatment options. Both treatments have their respective side effects. But it really comes down to you and what you want with your treatment. Some people like a shorter duration of treatment and then can get off the drugs. Others don't mind taking pills daily for as long as the treatment holds. It comes down to personal preference as you really can't go wrong with either choice. I was offered V+O, the MAJIC trial, or acalabrutinib. I chose acalabrutinib twice a day. I don't mind taking it every day. It doesn't interrupt anything that I do so for me it's fine. Talk to your doctor about the side effects of both as that may also contribute to your decision. But either choice is a good one! Good Luck!
Thanks
I am on the V&O for the one year treatment. All I can say is that it has been super easy for me. The first month there were quite a few appointments. I haven't had any ill effects at all. The side effects seem to very among everyone. Overall I think most people do really well. Best of luck to you on whatever you decide.
Different places have different access to drugs. If in UK you should have been offered Ven+Ibrutinib as well.
You may want to lock your post to "community only".
Basically you are being asked to make a bet that you will go longer on Acalabrutinib than 3 years + 2 remission durations of Ven+O followed by Ven+R (or Ven+O in some places, not UK, if remission was long enough).
