Have you had a diagnosis of RA confirmed by serological testing?
Ibrutinib is well known for arthralgia side effects that come and go but Acalabrutinib less so. It may be a side effect rather than genuine RA which is more systemic and not confined to a few joints which the BTKi side effects are.
Hi Tomalijoe69,

IMO- Jm954 is right on target. In many cases our CLL & treatments are a direct or indirect cause of side effects and autoimmune problems. But figuring out which one is the cause is very complicated.

*Autoimmune diseases (rheumatoid arthritis and erythromelalgia) possibly caused by CLL
*Tendinitis, arthritis, or bursitis anyone?

*What arthritis drugs can you take while on BTKi?"

I developed Psoriatic Arthritis a couple months before starting Zanubrutinib. Shortly after starting zanubrutinib symptoms greatly improved. Zanubrutinib has off target effects and in this case it can benefit people with psoriasis. Are you sure it is RA?
Thanks for your response, I think I may have jumped to the wrong conclusion. I started with a pain in my left shoulder, then it spread to the neck and sometimes in the right shoulder. Went for physio and because of the restriction in movement the physio diagnosed arthritis. I googled arthritis and because of the impact of acalabrutinib on the immune system I thought it fits that’s is RA. Since found out side affects of acalabrutinib is arthritis, lovely jubbly
