I just tested positive for Covid. Can I continue to take Ibrutinib while I'm on Paxlovid?

Thanks.

Paxlovid increases the blood serum level of ibrutinib, so unless you stop or at least reduce your ibrutinib dose, you risk an increase in ibrutinib side effects/adverse events. Talk to your CLL specialist. There is little risk in stopping ibrutinib for 5 days. It's done for surgery.

Wishing you a quick recovery.

I had covid over Christmas and received Paxlovid. I stopped my Ibrutinib for 7 days with no side effects from stopping.

The NIH has a whole list of drugs that should not be taken with Paxlovid. I had to stop Imbruvica and a statin I am taking for the week. Check:

My team nurse told me to stop for 2 weeks. But by end of week two I was testing positive again, been negative for 6 days. Stopped Acalabrutinib for another 2 weeks and blood was normal when tested before I restarted taking Acalabrutinib again.
