Blood work opinions.

I had my blood draw today and this is the first time my numbers have been out of normal range. I am 10 days post COVID, do you think that could alter my test? I also took plaxovid for 5 days. Any opinions would be appreciated. I'm kind of worried. Two weeks ago they were all perfect.

Please, ignore percentages when you have CLL. It only leads to confusion!

The only result which is out of range - and it's the one that you want out of range and low, is your absolute lymphocyte count. It's only a tiny bit low, because your treatment has worked very well and you have very few, if any CLL cells in your blood and likewise very few healthy B cells - caught in friendly fire, so to speak. It's because your lymphocyte count is so low, that your monocyte percentage is high, but your absolute monocyte count is fine. See how percentages get distorted and can confuse what is a healthy result? I doubt COVID-19 or Paxlovid has had much of an influence on your results.

I am sitting here in the infusion center with time on my hands. I am reading your post and looking at your numbers. Yes, what Neil says!

Also, your ANC looks pretty darn good, your doing really well. Relax on your numbers as they are going to move around. We have O & V on take out the garbage duty.

What are your platelets?

(Platelets are 252 and hemoglobin 14) haha I like your garbage comment. What cycle is this infusion for you?

Had 100, 900, 1000 and another hour to go on this last 1000 for the first cycle. Today is a nothingburger, no reaction.

You have really good platelets and HGB!

Your doing super well.

To anyone else that is going to an infusion center to start O & V treatment.

Pack anti hiccup medicine with you as (Baclofen 10mg) with Obinutuzumab its a known possible side effect, and it was hiccups in multiples most of the time. They did not have any hiccup pills on the crash cart when I was over having them Day 1 & 2 of Cycle One.. The Doctor ordered some for me as I emailed them a request from my infusion chair.day 1 end day in the middle of the hiccup wars. If you take Baclofen they dissapear. As day 2 I packed my artillary for dealing with them. When I started the same fast repeat hiccups. Down went some of my pills and after an half hour or so hiccups abated. This cat and mouse with hiccups lasted about 4 days.

Next, bring anti nausea pills...Odansetron 8mg (sofran).

Get your Onco to order them for you and bring them to each infusion. For couple years I put up with non vomit nausea. PA yesterday said lets talk side effects. Meaning what can we do for you? I said if I had Anti Nausea medicine would be great! Ao she ordered Sofran....took some this am preinfusion and it worked great. Remember to drink a minimum of 56oz a day. I drink about 80oz because if I dont. I start to feel bad, body flu type symptoms. But then added water brings me back to feeling better.

Happy to hear today is a "nothing burger" those are the best ones. Then all of the sudden no more infusions. I kind of can't believe I'm done with those already. I kind of enjoyed the me time.

I am no longer having negative reactions during the infusion. But I am feeling crummy for a few days after each time now. My suspicion is that a bunch of it is the steroid pre treat hangover.

Don't look at percentages! is my advice. As others have said, it's the "absolute numbers" that are important.

I had my blood drawn today (still waiting for them to post results!), and unfortunately WBC and Lymphs had jumped up -- but doctor did say it may have something to do with the Covid I had nearly a month ago. Hope so.

Are you on treatment or W&W?

hi

Your body uses lymphocytes to fight off Covid and some times can deplete them for a while

Do you have the rest of the results to post?

do you have your previous IgG, IgM, IgA results

Actually those were a month ago. My Dr doest order them everytime. So I don't have new ones.

Okay,

Hard to say. Typically Lymphocyte counts go up with Covid vaccination or infection, then eventually go back down. I notice your IgA and IgG are decent. Do you get IgG infusions ?

Your IgM is low and could be because of the recent Covid infection or maybe, if you are like me your body doesn't make it.

Good luck

No I never have had any injections. Maybe my body doesn't make IgM . It has always been low. I just tested positive for COVID again no symptoms. My doctor pulled me off my Venclexta for two weeks. I'm am so over this crap.
