Mick ,has lost over 7kg in less than a month for no apparent reason. He has spoken to the GP and has done a stool sample and having blood's done today.I have spoken to specialist hematology nurse who has also wants to have blood's, done and she is going to email his consultant. He only started loosing weight when he was put on Ramerpril 10mg at the beginning of February.I did ask the GP if this could be related to his weight loss , but he didn't think so.I have since read , that Ramerpril can cause weight loss but is very rare. All his bloods were in range in January. He really can't continue loosing weight at this rate as he now looking thin.aYou can imagine I'm very worried.

Looking at your profile, I can see it's been 4 years since Mick was on the FLAIR trial. I am hoping the remission is still holding, but perhaps it hasn't. The treatments available now are more specific than FCR, so any treatment needed shouldn't be difficult if the FCR was.
My long remission of almost 5 years had me starting to relax as that anniversary approached, hoping I was in a "forever" remission. I remember the panic when I found out I wasn't. But that was mmm 6+ years ago. I had a few bumps, but now in another remission. I hope Mick has few problems, if indeed the weight loss is due to the CLL reactivating. Please get the bloodwork as soon as you can. And talk to the doc about temporarily stopping the ramipril, in case Mick does happen to be the rare person who loses weight on it!
Thankyou, Sofia he has had all his bloods done today. The problem I have is getting an appointment with the GP,and secondly getting them to listen.I probably know more about CLL than they do ,but I intend to be very persistent.
IDK how high his blood pressure has been/how much at risk he is, but they can't *force* him to take the ramipril. Sometimes I "tell" the docs what I want to do, instead of "ask". So if his bloodwork comes back normal, perhaps withdrawing the ramipril to see if that is the culprit, may be reasonable.
He has never suffered with high blood pressure until January when is BP was 185/90 and was started on 5mg of Ramerpril.I recorded his BP for 2 weeks and it was still high so it was increased to 10 mg at the end of January.I do try to stay on top of things.
It's good that you have doctors that actually check that out. I lost 80 pounds in two months time when first started Inrutinib. My doctor had no concern whatsoever. There doesn't seem to be many answers for some of our problems when it comes to side effects. I would love to know what that was from. Can be very frustrating when your own CLL doctor doesn't address serious issues.
