I was recently diagnosed with CLL in September 2022, with a WBC count around 120,000. Today, my labs came back and my Onocologist says they have double to 240,000. Not experiencing any classic symptoms, but now concerned about something more serious. No treatment has been started, just discussions about which might be best based on new CAT scan results.

I'm sorry to hear you were diagnosed with CLL but you found the best place. Don't be scared that it might be something more serious. This is exactly what CLL does. Your lymphocyte count will go up, sometimes it happens very slowly and sometimes it goes up very quickly. It doesn't have to mean anything. Your doctor will probably want to do another blood test soon to see what's happening. It can continue to go up but it can also stop or go down again - that's CLL for you, it's unpredictable. Even when treatment starts to be discussed there are so many great treatments now. Remember CLL is more about trends than a one off blood test result. Hope you have a CLL specialist. We are all here for you and with you.Petra ❤️
hi
While that’s a big jump, just wondering if you’ve had any recent vaccinations or infections, even if minor.
I’ve had counts nearly double in those settings then slowly go back down.
I had first treatment with a wbc of 228k but it was more about a painful enlarged spleen and being physically exhausted.
I hope your scans are good.
I will say that during CIT I decided I could feel sick, nauseated and puke in the trees on the side of a ski slope as I could laying around home. That outdoor physical exercise in nature made my Chemo so much easier
God bless.

I have not had any vaccinations, since I was a kid for MMR. When diagnosed in September, diagnosed with Covid and Atril Afribulation. No known infections, pain or concerning health issues! We will address treatment after CAT scan and next WBC test.
Sorry you are facing this so soon after diagnosis. I would suggest you look at any testing results that have been done and research on this site or the CLL society site to learn as much as possible about your markers. Hopefully you can access your portal at your Doctors office. Do get a second opinion. You can get this with a top CLL expert. The more you learn the better questions you can ask.
