My husband is about to start his treatment for CLL after 8 years of monitoring. He recently had a rigor attack. Do you think that could be connected to his illness??
Thank you

Hi Rocky0181,

I found a useful explanation of Rigor and its many potential causes here:
wikidoc.org/index.php/Rigor...
SNIP "What causes Rigor?
Exposure to a cold environment
Viral and bacterial infections
Bacterial gastroenteritis
Colds
Infectious mononucleosis
Influenza
Meningitis
Pneumonia
Strep throat
Viral gastroenteritis
Urinary tract infections such as pyelonephritis"

So to answer your question a doctor would need to step through a differential diagnosis

Since CLL compromises our immune system, many of that list are candidates.

Also, many of us have noted that CLL seems to have broken our internal personal thermostats, exposure to cold was never a problem for me (I snow skied and handled snow removal in Albany NY with no issues when I was younger) - now I need some of my heaviest ski gear to walk to my car. When I was younger the house was usually 68 deg F, now I get cold below 74 F.
Here are the 12 previous postings that mention "thermostat" healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

I had one such attack 6 years ago and it was found to be due to a bacterial gastrointestinal infection. The runs started a day or two after.
I started having rigors shortly before I was hospitalized with sepsis. I had also been having fevers daily.
