Thank yoy.

I just saw this, you posted it 9 hours ago. How are you doing?

Relax, acalabrutinib was tested to 400mg per day in a phase 1 clinical trial: nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/n...

I would suggest taking your next dose up to 3 hours later than usual, just to reduce the concentration, though I don't think it's necessary. That's because you are allowed to take your Calquence up to 3 hours later than your usual time:

Sorry for the delay in responding.

thank you all for your reassurance and guidance. All seems fine today. Was a good reminder to be more mindful.

I am sure you will be fine, I asked my consultant about missed and extra doses. I was told that whilst not ideal, we do have, as Neil says, a three hour window.

I have a terrible memory for taking tablets so when I was first told that I was to start treatment, I worried about forgetting to take the tablets. So first of all my husband made a tick sheet for us (I say 'us' because he checked each evening to make sure that I had ticked all the boxes). Then I got two of those little pill boxes with compartments for morning, lunch, evening and bedtime. I make a point of having two week's worth of tablets to hand, always filling up a box on Saturdays as I take my evening dose. I have two boxes because I was advised that should I need to go into hospital, only to take a week's worth of tablets because they will be taken off you, never to be seen again!

I also set a reminder alarm on my mobile phone as a back up.

Hope these ideas help!

I do the same.....my week's worth of pills are in a daily pill minder and my phone alarm goes off at 10 pm every night.

I've never taken too many, but I have missed a dose or two in the last 4 years. In both cases, I remembered in the morning so took them then.

Good morning.

I have been using a smart pill bottle from Adheretech (adheretech.com/). It was offered to me through my oncology pharmacy. Although I felt it was “big brother-ish” at first, it has become super helpful especially while traveling.

The pharmacy sets the two times you plan to take the meds. It lights up an hour before and makes a noise at the set times. The nice part is once the bottle is opened, the light goes off which I find is helpful too.

Maybe something worth looking into.

Good luck and glad you’re ok.

Sounds like you weathered it ok. I did the same thing while traveling (pre COVID) through different time zones when my math was off. I did the delay 3 hours advice Aussie Neil gave you and all was well.
