Please help me understand

After completing a year of full dose Venetoclast, I continue to be neutropenic with low numbers including platelets (60+) and hemoglobin, absolute lymphs and neutrophils. When does this improve? What does this mean? Will I be able to achieve remission? Many many thanks to all of you.

Hi there,

I hope you're fully recovered from your bout of covid now.

Regarding your ongoing cytopenias, low neuts, platelets and Hb (lymphs is to be expected and welcome) they may return to more normal levels now that your treatment is complete and you should have your blood count checked in the near future to monitor that.

If they remain low then, because of your strong family history of blood cancers, I would think you should have a bone marrow test to see exactly what is happening and if recovery of those cell lines is likely.

I hope they return to normal soon

Jackie

Hi, I had similar issues. They were sorted out by having G-CSF injections and reducing my Venetoclax dose. After 5 months it was reduced to 300mg and 2 months later 200mg. I’ve been taking 200mg now for just over 4 years and my numbers, while not great, are regarded as ok. My most recent numbers were platelets 139, neutrophils 1.4 and ALC 0.6. Go well.

Your platelet numbers are impressive. I am so happy to learn that you've arrived at a successful treatment place.

Hello bayside64

I am in 5th month of V&O treatment at 400 mg. My low bloods were what started me on the road to V&O treatment. I am happy to say that my blood numbers are continuing to climb to low to medium normal. Blessings.
