Hi, I'm new to this site. I'm in London, UK. I have a relative who is in the U.S. who is a scientist and has been working on the Covid vaccines. He advises strongly against having a flu vaccine and covid vaccine very close together as it overloads the immune system. You should have a gap between vaccines of one month.

I thank you, I had flu and the new Covid scheduled for the same day Flu & Covid on Friday and IgHv infusion on Monday) that would overload the system.

Will hold on the flu shot!

Husband has the infusion once a month; as his immune system is so low.

Flu and COVID-19 shots on the same day are considered as medically acceptable, given only a slight increase in side effects is observed. Separating them is a valid, conservative approach however, particularly if you tend to respond strongly to vaccinations. I would separate your IV IgG infusion by a couple of days if you tend to feel more tired, have a headache etc.

Have you considered switching to subcutaneous IgG? Far less impact. I've been having them weekly for the past 5 years. Sometimes the infusion points (2) can be tender for a while after and I'm often feeling more tired than usual for the next 24 hours, sometimes a bit longer, but I've not heard of anyone wanting to switch back to IVIG!

Thank you for your advice, always appreciated. I’ve not heard about IgG ? Just started IGHV infusion, so this one is new! This will be infusion # 2

My personal preference is to space vaccines out at least 4 weeks apart. I always have very strong immune response to the covid shots, with fever and body aches for a couple of days. I have 3 Pfizer shots and 1 Moderna boosters. My last booster was in May of this year. I plan to get boosted again with the omicron vaccine at the end of November. Each one of us is different, so I am just stating my own preference based on my previous reactions to the covid vaccines.
