Updates on what is happening with STATIC. Since Prof. Hillmen left, it seems to have stalled somewhat.

With only 18 months left on the FLAIR trial and as per another post on here saying Prof. Peter Hillman has left the trial I am a bit worried about STATIC stalling.Anyone got any further updates?

Hi I am on the FLAIR trial too with 18 months to go. When I last spoke to the research doctor about STATIC she said she hoped to be setting it up in the Autumn.Ann

Hi,

I have asked the patient representative for the STATIC trial what progress has been made in opening the study.

She replied as follows "we have a meeting on Monday, I can update you after that. I had hoped the first hospitals would be opening the study in September, so fingers crossed."

Hopefully she will update me and I can feed back to the group soon. There are a lot of people waiting on this.

It’s too bad there wasn’t more of a transition period but I assume the economics were very favorable for Dr. Hillman and he had to move quickly.
