Anyone have issue with floaters/light flashing after obinutuzumab infusion?
Went to ED to be on safe side and following up with ophthalmologist . Definately a link….. retina is intact and no brain bleed so there is that!! Perspective .

Hello, not sure if you’ve already seen your ophthalmologist, so just sharing some info.
Your symptoms are similar to what I’m experiencing from PVD with hemorrhage. (Posterior Vitreous Detachment.)
No Ob or other infusion history.
Although I’m on Calquence and my platelets are slightly low, I’ve been told this is simply an age-related issue, with risk increasing from age 50 on.
Very Common and inevitable the docs say.
A PVD itself is harmless but creates a high risk of Retinal Detachment over the next six weeks from onset.
Which is an emergency requiring urgent surgery.
So my Opthalmologist saw me on a Saturday for thorough emergency exam; again the following Friday; and scheduled again two weeks after that.
With strict instructions to call immediately (cell phone provided) with Any increase in symptoms such as flashes of light, further impaired vision, and especially the appearance of a dark curtain partially closing off field of vision.
(I skipped the ER visit because a friend with similar problem had been misdiagnosed by ER docs and ended up needing more extensive surgery as a consequence.)
It will take at least 3 months for the abnormal visual phenomena to fully resolve.
And then—bonus!—expect the other eye to develop same within one to three years.
So please be vigilant and report any changes immediately.
Of course this is just my own experience as a patient with no medical training.
Your issue could be different.
Best wishes from Mary.
