Units of measurement for the expression of anti-SARS-CoV 2 IgG quantitative

Dear fellow forum members, reading various posts and answers in our forum, I noticed that there are different numbers and different dimensions.

Therefore, according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization (WHO), the tests for proving specific antibodies to SARS-CoV-2 should be updated to the first International Standard (IS). The purpose of equating the obtained values to the standard is the traceability of the results over time and the possibility of comparison between different analysts and laboratories. The new values are expressed in BAU/ml (Binding Antibody Units).

Different laboratories use different analyzers, whose readings must be equated.

I apply odds for several brands of analyzers a little mpo-down.

It is correct that the laboratories that perform the analyzes specify with which analyzer they were performed or whether they were equalized.

Otherwise it is impossible to make comparisons and people get confused.

cibalab.com/wp/cov2-quaniti... table is at the bottom. I can't post the photo separately because it is too stretched.

Yalokin, I had SARS-CoV-2 Semi-Quant Total Ab tests run at LabCorp, and my report only specified that the Roche Elecsys Anti-SARS-CoV-2 S test was the test that was used. My report, as well as the LabCorp web site didn't report the equipment that was used for the test, but the Roche web site specifies that the test is intended for use on the Roche Cobas E immunoassay analyzers.

In reading many publications over the past couple of years, the authors do report the name of the tests run, but don't usually report the standard antigen concentration that they have used to calibrate their instruments, or the name of the instruments used.

It definitely would be wonderful if all of the testing companies used the same standard units!

If your result is in AU/ml, by the Roche table, multiply by 0.97 to get BAU/ml.
