Lateral flow tests

kitchengardener2 profile image

I received a box of lateral flow tests yesterday in the post, anyone else had them. We do test regularly and submit results.

This box has a reference number which it says may need to be quoted.

I received a box when it was announced the general public would have to pay for the tests. The idea is that you will get priority if you test positive. I have put mine in a separate place because they arent for general testing but to be used if you have symptoms of covid.I am surprised you have only just got your tests as many of us have had them a while.

I feel happier knowing that I have these tests and hope I will get treatment quickly if I need it. The number on the tests is matched to us and they will phone back as a priority, Anne uk

This is the second box I have received, or at least I think it is, we were ordering LFTs regularly when it was announced that they were going to be charged for. However, I received a box which I didn't think I had ordered so perhaps that is what my mystery box was. Thanks for your reply x

That sounds like it. This box needs to be kept separate. It should have a number on the front and instructions. Lets hope you dont need to use it.

Oh no !

Anne I certainly don’t remember seeing any with different instructions and just checked the ones I have and I can’t see anything. I test regularly ( paranoid ) and have also given a couple away to family that were positive. Oh well something else to worry about.

I understood the LFT box I was sent was for general use. I ordered another box a few days ago and also test regularly. I've decided to test every day since Wednesday as my husband tested positive for Covid then. I want to be aware of a positive result as soon as I can. So, no need to worry. Actually I can't believe my results are negative, maybe I did make some antibodies. I do feel extra tired but am doing all the cooking, which my husband usually does, in an effort to reduce cross contamination. We've allocated separate bedrooms and bathrooms too.

I hope your husband recovers quickly and you don’t catch from him 🤞

Thank you. So glad it's summer as we can eat outside, apart of course and we have lots of windows open.

I feel so sorry for people without an outside space during lockdown. I have a patio with a side entrance and it’s been a lifesaver being able to see friends and family but at a safe distance.

Our garden has been a lifesaver during the last two years. We have always been keen gardeners but this has grown to become a serious hobby. We can spend six hours a day easily and not see what we have done. xx

Lucky you ! About 10 minutes in my patio but it’s a lifesaver and my two cats have room to sleep in the shade. Colette
