CLL's affect on dental implants

Recently I had a dental implant suddenly fall out. Has anyone else with CLL had this problem or have heard of this problem?

No, I’ve got one which remains solid after a few years. But when I was assessed for another yesterday, the dental surgeon said that how implants fared reflected general health. So it may depend on how long you’ve had your implant and where you are on your CLL journey. You may just need it screwing back in or the base repaired.

My husband doesn't have cll but had an implant fall out. It was the fault of the dentist who did the work.

I have several dental implants, but none of them have fallen out.

That's great. When did you have treatment for your CLL?

Not implants, but when I had chemo a few years ago a number of my dental fillings fell out and since starting on the current round of treatment I have had another four drop - I have no idea if the treatment is causing it - so not sure if it is causation or just correlation.

It so happened that while I was about to put an implant on the chewing tooth on the right, a cyst formed under the root of the upper three, and the doctor said that it was urgent to resect while there were chances to save the tooth. This operation was performed under local anesthesia, and during it, I realized what to expect from implantation. Everything is tolerable. It only starts to hurt – they add an anesthetic. Therefore, I can't say that it hurt. During the procedure, I felt nothing but pressure. After the anesthesia passed, I drank an anesthetic pill after pill for 3 hours. Then the discomfort could be safely tolerated. And a dentist dental-detective.com/how-lo... said that everything went well.
