I just wanted to report my husband's experience with COVID.
Last Wednesday I catch COVID and on Saturday he also tests positive. I panic, insist that he should investigate the opportunity to get treatment but he wants to wait. The reason being that his haematologist said the his response to the vaccine seemed optimal, like a healthy person: his antibody test reported >2500 after the first two jabs and then a month ago, four months after the booster (not third dose), it was again >2500.
Anyway, on Monday he contacts his Dr and he replies that he wants to know immediately if he gets worse. However, his symptoms have been rather mild: day 1 sore throat, day 2 onwards a blocked nose which, in a milder form, is still there.
I am hoping he is not in danger anymore, yesterday he ran 9 km (I know, he shouldn't but he won't listen) and has worked throughout.
I should also add that we are both still testing positive, day 8 for me and day 5 for him.
So perhaps, those numbers do mean something? Difficult to say and we are indeed all different.
Thanks

He’s obviously had a mild dose and mounted an excellent response. I’m rather surprised he went to work positive for Covid however and ran a race 😳
Some people continue to test positive much longer than others even well after the infectious period has passed. However, looks like he was out and about during the infectious stage.
Phew! that’s a relief. I thought it odd he’d ‘gone to work’ which usually suggests mingling with others. He’s done well in weathering this which is reassuring 😊
I understand, we’re all sensitive to the topic especially now that there are no restrictions. I actually wrote “has worked throughout” but maybe it gives the same impression. Sorry, English is not my first language so I should be more careful.
He is lucky that he is home based so always works from home regardless of covid, besides the occasional meetings with clients.
The reason I was not happy with him running is because I’m not sure it’s good to stress the system while the virus is still there but he says he needs it for sanity.
No worries at all. I can understand your concern about him over exerting himself but it sounds like his lung function wasn’t adversely impacted and mental health is important too. That’s the variation with Covid infection and we never know how badly it will affect us until we get it. I was so relieved not to get it badly having had an otherwise healthy friend die of it 😔
I do agree! To be fair to him that was his first session since testing positive and he did it because apparently he was feeling much better (still, I was not happy).
Anyway, as of today he is officially negative, three days before me 😳
Sounds like you are close to moving past covid. I would have to admit that when I had covid I did not feel up to running 9km, good for him and blessing on your continued recovery.
