I was on Acalabrutinib for over two years without any complications or side effects. I was vaccinated in January 2021. About 3 months after that I started to have issues with medication. I had to switch to Zanubritinb about month ago. Anybody else notices issues with their medications (any medication) after vaccination?

CALQUENCE (Acalabrutinib) not working right after Covid vaccination?
What specific issues did you have with acalabrutinib? Did they all disappear when you switched to zanubrutinib, or did the severity of the acalabrutinib issues just change? What vaccination did you have?
Both acalabrutinib and zanubrutinib are covalently bonding BTK inhibitors with zanubrutinib possibly having a lower side effect profile than acalabrutinib. Nearly all vaccination related side effects occur within weeks of the vaccination, so a change 3 months afterwards is very unlikely to be related. Nevertheless, if you can share details of your vaccine and the side effect changes you have observed, it will be interesting to find out if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I have CLL, been on Ibrutinib for a year and a half with a couple of side effects to that are now manageable after my med. reduced from 3 to 1 per day. Regular bloodwork indicating my numbers are now where they should be. So very thankful for the Ibrutinib and my Hematologist!
To answer your question, no, have had no issues following my first 2 vaccinations and received my third a couple of weeks ago and thankfully, still no issues. Wishing you the best.
If of interest, my first 2 were Pfizer and the third Moderna.

Hi,I have had both Jabs and 2 covid infections. My acalabrutinib is working fine. There is no scientific basis any vaccine to interfer with acalabrutinib, i it was just a coincidence with the timing.
I may be having the same experience. I had my third dose (Moderna), in November. The first two were Pfizer in January and February of 2021. My prior labs were in May 21 without changes. I've been on acalabrutinib since 2019 and my labs have been hovering at the high end of normal. When I had my next labs in December, about a month after my Moderna dose, my WBC nearly doubled from May. My oncologist at MD Anderson said that the booster could have something to do with that. I'm repeating labs tomorrow to see where they stand. If the numbers continue to be elevated, the next step will be to test for a BTK mutation. It was strange because I didn't develop any antibodies after my first two doses .04<, but after the Moderna dose my antibodies were at 14. I'm wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?
