Sorry to hear about your problems. The first thing you want to rule out is Covid. I had a similar problem years ago that was caused by a parcel lung collapse. It was resolved with treatments of antibiotics.
I cough up chunks of mucus some mornings and the look grey and thick and green but I have not gotten sick at all in the lungs and it's been a long time. Have you gotten PET scan
I have had a filthy cold for 9 weeks, copious thick snot and a racking cough bringing up even more phlegm. I saw my GP who diagnosed a chest infection and put me on a 5 day course of CoAmoxiclav but that was in early August and here we are in October and the snot is still pouring out, enough to supply a candle factory, though Beconase seems to be reducing the flow somewhat. I did a LFT early on and had a -ve result. I am on Acalabrutinib and weekly SCIG of 16g. I would have hoped that the transfused IgG would have given me some immunity to the common cold but perhaps the Acalabrutinib has inhibited that. I have a consultation with my haematologist in a fortnight's time so I'll ask her then. In the meantime it's paper hankies by the boxfull and our Tesco seems to have a shortage of them as the shelves are bare. It'll be kitchen towel or bog-roll next!
I have had a cough for 7 months and it is so hard to get that thick mucus up. I have never had anything like this, when I say thick that is s understatement. I sure wish it would leave. All my numbers are great and in remission but this cough is enough to drive a person crazy!!!
