Several members of my family - with the ATM mutation (my CLL 11q is ATM related)
will be joining a clinical trial at Penn - to develop a more accurate (CA19-9) blood biopsy for the detection of early pancreatic cancer - also associated with the ATM mutation.
Our ATM positive family (12+)have found this works for us.
Survivor’s Formula:
*Frequent surveillance* = *early detection*
The last part of the formula sometimes takes the most effort to implement with the insurance issues.
*no watch and wait* - only wide excisions and clean wide margins.
The early detection of Pancreatic cancer trial protocol is yearly Esophageal Ultrasound (EUS)plus labs. Interventional Radiology (IR) at Penn is a great team.
My Bone Marrow Biopsy in IR was quick and painless. I expect the EUS to be the same - fingers crossed.
