I am getting confused now between third primary doses for the immunosuppressed as announced last week and booster doses as announced today! Especially as the article talks about the immunosuppressed being in the priority group for the booster.

From the BBC news website:

“The advice is separate to the recent recommendation of third doses for people with severely weakened immune systems - something that is already being rolled out. “

“Already rolled out”?! Neither my Gp or haematologist have any information other than what the news is stating.

Exactly what I have found and as CLL nurse at hematology is on leave I'm in limbo too(advice to gov was that consultants would deal with 3rd in 1st cycle)

Think the third jab in 1st cycle has not been adopted by UK gov sadly.. I think we may well have to wait and see if we are offered a further jab after so called booster.. I am certainly going to ask CLL nurse once she gets back from leave

My husband who is WW had his second vaccination in May. Does this mean he will have to wait six months and get his third in November?

I am also very confused as being CEV I received a text from my GP group today but a friends over 50 husband not CEV booked via NHS messaging. There is also conflicting information about which vaccines are on offer. Sky say Pfizer and Moderna and other websites say Pfizer and Astra Zeneca.

The statement was that a third dose to all over 50s would be given after 6months of their last (2nd) dose. For me that's due right about now but I doubt the wheels will turn that fast. Seems I'll get my third dose hopefully within the next month. Lap of the gods. 🤷‍♂️

Totally ! My brain hurts with all this contradictory information.

I’ve been searching for clarity too but am beginning to think I’ll be offered a booster followed by a third vaccine at this rate because the former is being rolled out quicker. Something tells me they’ll struggle with administrating who should get what based on the previous ‘priority tangle’.

Sadly it’s a complete nightmare.

There was a GP on the news earlier saying the COV Boost study seems to be recommending mix and match but I doubt if that will happen for me and 1/2 dose of Moderna was another new one I read.

Hopefully by 4th we might have clarity.

I was going back to hibernate but then I read a study somewhere that said widows of a certain age who have little contact with other people are the most likely to suffer from high blood pressure ! Who can I get to sit in my garden in the rain I wonder 💭

Somehow I don’t think a gnome will be much company 🤔

So, the JCVI's cogently argued rationale has been ditched, and now we have The Third Jab meets the Little-Rated Booster. A lot of us will fit two or three of the criteria for stage 1 beginning next week. Roll up your sleeves folks!

And do look out out for an article in Blood Journal, possibly in the next edition: results from an Israeli study of booster vaccination efficacy in (among others) CLL patients.
