Did I get that right???

The substitute Health Secretary Sajid Javid announced today that, as of August 16th, anyone who's told (by the App one assumes) they've been in contact with a new Covid case WILL NOT have to self-isolate. It will be optional to do so. theguardian.com/world/2021/...

But - here's the best bit - Covid contacts will be offered a PCR test and if they accept and then test positive they WILL have to self-isolate. Well THAT'S going to bring out the best in human nature...

Well of course! Didn’t you know that people have common sense, and that’s what we have to rely on from now on? Do keep up. 😳

Thanks. Watching the evening news on TV, before watching this video, I came to the same conclusion as Dr Campbell: government strategy now is to use the summer to boost herd immunity by allowing the virus to permeate the unvaccinated population. Ministerial statements make it clear that an "acceptable" death toll has been factored into government thinking, and I fear that the immunocompromised will have a fight on their hands to obtain any special treatment. Still, we must try.
