We managed to get travel insurance in the UK through Avanti and they were prepared to cover CLL (my husband is on W &W). They were much cheaper than other providers. We didn’t need cruise insurance though, so don’t know if that would have been an issue but may be worth checking out.

I have used World First, whilst I was on W & W and again after I had treatment and they were the cheapest of any of the ones I researched. Unfortunately due to needing unexpected treatment I had to cancel holiday, there was no problems with claim.

Are you not worried about Covid? I would love to travel but with the risk it’s just too scary to think about. Am I being paranoid? I heard 1 in 3 of us will die if we get Covid, that’s enough to make me want to stay in lockdown.

If there is 1 thing I hear frequent warnings against is going on a cruise. Thousands tightly packed with no proper medical attention. Ship's doc does not count. If I was a virus a cruise ship would be my preferred habitat.

If you or your spouse or either parent of such were ever in the uk services the Service Pensions Society do travel insurance with no medical questions asked bar going against medical or government advice ..my dad was in the navy in ww2 and i can get it for me and my husband

Civil Service Sporting Club run a similar Travel Insurance Scheme. It’s an annual Worldwide Policy with no requirement to declare conditions, must be ‘fit to travel’ . You don’t need to have worked for the Civil Service just one of many public sector jobs listed on their website including any NHS staff (including retired like myself), teachers etc. You pay a monthly fee (around £5) for membership and can then purchase their annual Travel Insurance. There are many other perks too e.g. free entrance to English Heritage sites, cash back offers etc, really good “Club” to be part off regardless of if you’re after insurance!

For those in the UK (I guess you are from your name) AllClear are good though like others I would not contemplate a sea cruise at the moment.

Its a very difficult market at present as you can imagine. I am on W & W and have taken cover for travel insurance since 2015 when diagnosed and in that time my premium ( wife and myself for worldwide cover excluding cruising) has increased from £693 to £904 and this year they are indicating £1200. Originally with Avanti and last two years with Insurancewith who were , originally, much cheaper. Cruise cover is very expensive to obtain- maybe you should see if the cruise operator provides cover ( Saga do)- mainly because they perceive the risks to be high and also if anything happens to you whilst on a cruise the medical/ repatriation costs are very high. They did , however, give cover for a river cruise which was cancelled anyway! But as a warning we are having a " debate" with Insurancewith about the £900 paid for a year when we had 4 holidays arranged but all 4 were cancelled. Effectively they were never on risk as all four holidays were arranged on the basis as being cancellable at any time .So far they have just offered £300 return!

Sadly CLL is a cancer and insurance companies don’t like cancer patients going on cruises. Just the word cancer at any stage.

However river cruises are fine.

I’ve discounted any attempt to go on a sea cruise. But you don’t know; spend a few hours on the various websites. Just keep googling and hopefully something will suit.

Best Wishes
