I’d hoped that my husband could receive vaccine at CLL docs office but it seems they’re not distributing that way - which is a shame - how are people supposed to prove they’re compromised status?
Anyone have any leads on how to get him onto a list?

I was told by my CLL Dr (Coutre at Stanford) that they (physicians) would not be involved in any vaccine distribution. He basically told me that it was next to impossible to sort people by criteria - such as co-morbidities, etc.
Needless to say I was surprised when the CDC (not known for brilliant judgment) came up with all these categories for vaccinations. They can’t even vaccinate medical personnel very efficiently.
Just look for white coats and jab them. I am sorry, but I suspect there is no list! This is probably why so few of distributed doses actually end up in arms. I suspect that this will change, but only after the CDC is told to give guidance that can be efficiently followed.
It is a good question ... how do you prioritize groups with compromised status if there is no way to identify the people in it?

I asked at UCLA on Monday, including which vaccine I might be likely to get. I was told that front line people are being vaccinated now. Those at risk next. I would fall into that category. They, and other large institutions, are getting the Pfizer version because they already have the refrigeration units needed to store it, whereas pharmacy chains like CVS don't.
But Dr. Coutre had a good point -- how do they know who is "at risk." Is it OK to just go through patient medical records for that? Even then, it would only apply to the electronic systems the "vaccinator" had access to.
It really is a difficult system!
I guess, from what my doctor said, one thing that might help would be having a connection the a major center that would have proper refrigeration for the Pfizer vaccine, as to get it out fast much of it will go there first. Doctors in those centers would be able to submit names or requests. Dr. Gupta, in a recent interview (Steven Colbert?) said that it is almost impossible to get confirmed information. Rules and supplies can vary from county to county.

In my case my GP is in same medical group as my CLL treatment H/O, so will be in next group after frontline workers. I will see him this week and find out for sure. It looks to me that it will take some time to get sorted. We are between those who do not want the shots and those who would give their first born for shots. Blessings.
I reached out to my cll specialist at one of the major Hospitals in nyc. They don’t have any information. I live in nj so I was able to pre register online but indication when I would be vaccinated. The process seems slow at this point.
My Daughter works in a NYC cancer center and despite the published information it’s not at all clear when or the timeframe with finger pointing seemingly the main goal rather then doing the best with what you have

Hi Funboys. If you google NY state Covid vaccine registration there is a form that you can fill out. If you are over 75, work in a face forward patient setting, or work in EMS you can get the vaccine this week. I also saw a lot of teachers on line, and met some who work in stores. They do look at proof of career. However, the nyc sites are swamped. We were able to get vaccinated on Long Island more easily. If you don’t fit the above criteria sit tight as it seems it will open wide soon.
