Brian, you are a CAR-T pioneer and an inspiration to all of us. Your story helps us all believe that we can beat Cll and that we have to be proactive to do so.

For my money, anyone who has been progression free of Cll for ten years or more is cured. I look forward to reading about it when you reach ten years.

I do think CAR-T can cure some of us. CAR-T needs to be improved upon and the cost scaled down so it can become a routine treatment.

I can tell you even as CAR-T is now, it serves a great purpose for me. I am not sure what the future holds for me if i become resistant to ibrutinib and venetoclax doesn’t work, or doesn’t work very long. It reduces my stress knowing that maybe the best of all Cll treatments could one day be an option for me.

Thanks for your work with the Cll society and thanks for bringing your CAR-T experience to us all.

Now my one bone to puck with you. You were supposed to look me up and have dinner on a recent trip to New Orleans. Maybe next time, maybe at your place. I plan in being a traveling man one day again soon.

Jeff,

Thanks. I did go to NOLA a few years back and blew a chance to break bread with you. Next time, post COVID.

Stay strong

Brian

I do not understand why we all cannot try this? I’m so tired of living in W&W with Covid-19 and wondering when I’m going to get really sick. Worry kills faster than CLL and makes us vulnerable to other cancers

I agree, why are they not approving it for cll. It needs to be approved asap.

I am not very well read on the subject, but why is CAR-T not approved for CLL? It sounds so promising!

Too new. Registrations trials are underway but accrual has been slow, first to some concerns re CRS and other treatment related morbidity and honestly mediocre outcomes. Both are better today, but now we have COVID slowing down trials where you need to be in hospital.
