Heads up for patients with some private health insurers in US. Not clear how (or if) this will affect Medicare patients with supplemental coverage.

"Starting Oct. 1, several private health insurers will no longer fully pay for virtual visits under certain circumstances — effectively reinstituting costs for patients reliant on the virtual care that has been heralded as a lifeline at a time when Covid-19 is still killing more than 700 Americans each day."

I always think about how unfair this is they let people die because either they don't have health insurance (which doesn't cover everything) or the patient simply can't afford it. This makes me so outraged.

I cannot be certain of this, but for those on original Medicare there should be no copays. Medicare Advantage plans have them, as do many plans for those not yet 65.
