Is it safe to take high doses of vitamin B12 while on Ibrutinib? My GP recommends this as a treatment for canker sores.

vitamin B12
I think it is okay, but its always best to run these things by your cll doctor or your pharmacist. I get my ibrutinib from a specialty pharmacy and they have a pharmacist on call who I can call and ask about any ibrutinib side effects or contraindications.
I also can also ask such questions to my doctor online through my patient portal which are usually answered same day by his nurse. I imagine B12 is safe, but you may also want to clarify what "high dose" means, as that is somewhat of a vague measure to me.
I was taking 1000 mcg sublingual B12 daily. For the 2.5 years I was on ibrutinib.
Should be safe short term.
have found that it was necessary to even limit Vitamin B in food. So no vegemite and no nutritional yeast and only the occasional small beer. Caused skin problems - rash and peeling specially round nails. has been fine since we stopped - and of course no supplements of Vitamin B
Oregano Oil worked very well for me with mouth sores. 1 drop on your tooth brush.
Sores went away in 1 week.
I take B-12 as well,
Be well,
