Here in Brainless British Columbia, a decision has idiotically been made to allow 4 cruise ships from Asia (totaling 9,000 passengers) to redirect to Victoria, BC, instead of touring Asia. Victoria is on the southern tip of Vancouver Island. The island (which is where I live) currently has NO cases of Coronavirus. But Chamber of Commerce geniuses thought this would be good for Victoria downtown businesses. The executive director for the Downtown Victoria Business Association, said "while coronavirus is a very concerning issue, this is good news for Victoria." And: “It will bring a huge positive boom … especially here in downtown,” he said. Unbelievable.

I have not heard our provincial medical health officer quoted in any of these cruise ship stories yet. I cannot believe government would think this is a good idea!

Definitely cases in Canada and in British Columbia. But none on Vancouver Island, which is why it's so ridiculous to reroute these Asian cruise ships to Vancouver Island.

If you google "real-time map coronavirus" you will get to a page that takes you to a very interesting real-time global map of the coronavirus spread. You can look at any individual country or city and see the number of cases, how many are resolved, how many still current. You can see total deaths for any country (and some cities), plus total cases. All kinds of interesting data analysis laid out graphically.
