Ibrutinib

I am new to this site. I was diagnosed almost a year ago with CLL. I’m on Iburtinib and it works great for me. The first 3 weeks of taken Ibutinib was a none event but the next 4weeks or so was brutal as my white blood cell count dropped . I almost gave up but as my numbers got lower the side effects eased up to feeling normal . I have a few side effects that I like to blame on Ibitinib but I’m not getting any younger and they may be there anyway.

Hi Len,

Thanks for your reply. When I was first diagnosed my WBC was 183,000. My doctor said that looking at my blood test that I looked like I would do well with Iburtinib. I had a new blood test every 30 days after starting Ibutinib right away the numbers went like this 183,120,47,27,9,9,8, a slight increase last month probably due to an ear infection to 12,000. Tomorrow I will have a new test. So far so good

It's such a strange drug as my WBC went way UP during the first 4.5 months of taking Ibrutibnib -- from a fairly normal number up to 128 or so.
