Ibrutinib

My husband’s side effects are worse late afternoon early evening. I stay awake until I am sure he is more settled. He has horrible chills. He’s beginning to have head aches as well. He had headaches with FCR. Any advice on how to best comfort him or make life easier during Ibrutinib?

Zappymom, were I you, I would contact the CLL Dr. treating your husband. Chills can mean fever, and fever can mean infection.

Infection can spread fast and become very serious. Sorry, don't mean to scare you, but do want you to know the seriousness of what chills can mean.

We spent all day Friday in the ER and talked to his oncologist twice that day. His lymph nodes are larger after a call from him on Saturday. I do appreciate that input. I had no idea infection could spread quickly. I will continue monitoring him closely.

He had anaphylactic shock from Nuelasta while on FCR. He only has chills in the late afternoon and evening. I will make the call.

Different treatment, but I had terrible chills when I was first treated. My doctor did labs stat in the morning and everything tested as in range. No fever. By evening I was in the ER, septic. Still no fever. Please get this checked!

He’s not having chills tonight. I’m so glad. I will stay with my decision to have him seen. He was in the ER all day Friday and we saw the Oncologist twice that day because of the chills and low grade fever 100.8 F. The Oncologist called Saturday (the following day) to check on him. Today is the first day without chills.

He made it through the night without drenching night sweats and chills. He was clammy to touch. Fatigued today, lymph nodes aching, and slight headache. Thank you! Praying that I am secure, loving, kind, and courageous for him.

Today he slept almost the entire day. Please anyone. Did you have this type of fatigue?
