My husband's CLL began increasing quickly last fall, and hemoglobin/RBC's started falling (Doc said b/c WBC's were crowding out the bone marrow back then... "pre"-treatment). He began BR treatment in November, along with weekly blood transfusions for the last few months. BR was successful at lowering WBC count, but HGB and RBC's aren't recovering. They've DX'd "pure red cell aplasia" (PRCA) as the reason (it's rare). Have any CLL veterans been diagnosed with PRCA? If so, how did they treat it?

CLLcaregiver-CO, welcome. You joined several months ago, but this is your first post.
I am sorry you have not gotten replies to your post so far. But the fact of its rarity, may be the cause of that lack, right now.
There is a way for you to read previous posts dealing with PRCA--if you will type
PRCA in the blue search box above RELATED POSTS, there are 8 posts following yours that show up as previous posts.
I hope you get some helpful information there as to others experiences. Let us know how things go with your husbands situation. Best wishes.
