I have a nodule on my lung that appeared around the same time as my CLL diagnosis. I have a CT scan twice a year. It has not changed since it was first discovered but needs to be closely monitored. Anyone else have this issue?
Is CLL linked with lung cancer?: I have a nodule... - CLL Support
Is CLL linked with lung cancer?
Don't think so but we can have secondary cancers especially after treatment. Could it just be a node sitting in the lung area? Very common to have nodes lurking all thru us. 💕
My CT scan showed a node in my lung, they will watch it to see if the size changes.
Nodules are common I know a few people that have had them for 20-years plus. That being said only your Dr can tell you if it a concern. Best wishes John.
Hi, Pippismom.
I have a lung nodule also discovered with first CT scan at diagnosis 3 years ago.
Because it's small and unchanged, a consulting CLL Specialist recently told me it is unlikely to be related to CLL (but possible, of course.)
We are all unique and it's good that your doctors are monitoring you closely.
Best wishes to you from Mary
Hi Pippismon I too was diagnosed with a lung node 2 years ago, it’s like the CLL on watch and wait!
I have been on WW with the CLL since July 2013, one big difference is that the lung collapsed in 1992, hopefully the nodule will continue to be on WW, good luck to you yours continues to stay WW.
I also had lung nodules discovered right after my CLL diagnosis in 2013. It was watched for a couple of years and since there was never any change, the follow-up CT scans were stopped. At the same time they discovered a lesion on my liver which was scanned twice. It was diagnosed as being focal nodule hyperplasia, which is a benign lesion which never becomes malignant. Apparently these types of findings are commonplace, even in people without CLL.
Wishing you all the best!!
Nan
A node was discovered on mu prostate 2 months ago after a CT scan. I saw an urologist this morning who examined me and scheduled an MRI (she said an MRI is more effected for diagnosing nodes (on the prostate?). She doesn't seem too concerned at this point and I have another appointment with her in March after my MRI. She said if the MRI doesn't reveal anything more than the CT scan, she said she will simply see me once a year for yearly exams.
