Getting back to normal!!!!!

Hi all I’m back after losing half of right lung in the operation and it’s confirmed growths directly due to my cll. The consultant has ordered a further scan in twelve weeks time and then I go from there as regards any more treatment. Has anyone had a similar experience? I cannot really understand how Cll has caused my to have such a drastic operation and I’m told they we size 11 so had to come out. I’m a little confused.

Hi Walfo

Sorry that you had to go through all this.

I like your heading ... Getting back to normal!

It's what we all try to do.

I hope that things go well from now on.

Walfo, it is good to hear from you and that the operation is over and you are on the mend.

CLL --B-cells can appear in almost any organ. Since it is a blood disease and blood is everywhere in our bodies. I can't explain why CLL may accumulate in one place and not another, but it happens.

I think that may be a better diagnosis than having it be lung cancer. The treatment can be for CLL and not be complicated by having 2 different cancers to treat.

Best wishes for a good, strong recovery from the operation.

Good luck with your recovery.

I have SLL. After 9 months on ibrutinib we decided to reduce my dose in hopes of reducing the side effects. I just had a PET scan. The treatment is working well, but the report said that there is "centrilobular emphysema with peripheral blebs" in the lungs. This was not reported in the previous scans. Maybe there was too much SLL in the way. Maybe it is new and a new side effect. I don't smoke.
