anyone get pains the leftside

I've been getting pain the the left side just under the rib cage for about 8weeks. I'm heading to doctor in the morning to see if it's a kidney infection.

Hi Jimmy! To be fair to us - we will not try to be your Dr on the Forum, your symptom account needs a little elaborating anyway. You are doing the right thing.

Kidney pain will tend to be in the mid back on one side. It could be lung related, spleen, even bowel, and indeed stomach - are all in that vicinity.

You are doing the correct thing by letting yr friendly Dr have a peek at you tomorrow.

What will cheer your Dr up, i find, is to take a long a sample of FRESH urine, in a washing up clean suitable receptacle. If you want to be super clever - a MID STREAM URINE SAMPLE (MSU) is ideal. This means missing the 1st part of the urine flow catching the middle bit and not the end of the stream. Easy for boys! Its just that I have been down that road a few times!

I will follow this post in hope that you might report back what your Dr says. I am not sure what Island you are on...

Definitely one for your doctor as Jig says Jimmy.

Enlarged spleen is often implicated with pain in that area with CLL but I see you also have COPD so it needs exploration.

Just an update I went to doctor today not a kidney infection. She is refering me to get a scan done. Thank for all your help.

I've had a scan and ultrasound and apparently all is ok!! But still get the pain!!!Please let us know your results!!

I get pain on MY right side under rib cage. Will talk to hemotologist on my next quarterly visit next week.

I had pain like that some time back. I had significant swelling in my mid area may have caused it. When I would bend over it felt like something was stuck in my rib cage. I did find I had a small hernia, which could also caused this pain. I haven't had it in the past few months. Hope you find your cause of pain.
