B"H New here, would love to hear from others who are on "watchful waiting" after a follicular lymphoma diagnosis... does any one with such a diagnosis know anything about taking supplements? Thanks so much!

Hi levigsc.

Thank you for finding our Forum which is a dedicated Forum to CLL. (Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia) You may find there is another Forum dedicated to Lymphoma. As with many blood diseases there are overlaps.

As for supplements - I think the consensus is that evidence is lacking for the use of supplements. I know many have used them, myself - Turmeric.

There an important issue though, some supplements may be harmful and may interfere with regular treatment. So always tell your Doctors what you are taking.

I trust others will answer too! This Forum can be searched for supplement posts and links too.

I wish you well in your search and in your treatments.

Levigsc, Sorry you are having to deal with any lymphoma at all, and I know it is so helpful to be able to commiserate with others who are dealing with the same disease.

In the hopes you will find help with Follicular Lymphoma, here is a link to such a site.

patientslikeme.com/conditio...

Cancer Research/UK has a forum for patients dealing with Follicular Lymphoma

cancerresearchuk.org/about-...

Best wishes to you.

Hi levigsc,

-

I see you just joined us today and are looking for info.

-

As JigFettler and cllady01 said we are primarily for Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia/Small Lymphocytic Lymphoma but there are many similarities with Follicular Lymphoma, and many treatments and symptoms are shared.

-

There are other Health Unlocked forums like:

healthunlocked.com/non-hodg...

healthunlocked.com/lymphomaca

healthunlocked.com/leukaemi...

-

And you may want to "follow" all of the above and this CLLSA forum, to get a daily summary of all postings and replies, since the others have only a few postings per week.

-

Regarding supplements, there is an excellent "Pinned Post" here: healthunlocked.com/cllsuppo...

I suggest reading all the replies, especially the well written details by AussieNeil.

Thank you so much! The article about supplements etc/ - it is so spot on and I have been searching for this exact "clarification" for three years now, being "bombarded" by well-meaning friends who think anything "natural" is good, and insist on telling me what to do though they have no medical training and do not know the details of my health situation. Thank you!

Welcome to the website. I think you should be very optimistic about treatments today. I would find an oncologist that treats mostly this type of lymphoma. Do not go to a general oncologist. You need a specialist to just like me I have CLL/SLL which is small lymphocytic lymphoma.

Best wishes,

-John
